Middle School Application Process

    • Grades 6-8

Welcome to Middle School!

The Viz Middle School program guides students through this sometimes vulnerable and often exciting period in their lives, providing them with the resources needed to become intelligent, ethical, productive, healthy, and well-rounded individuals. Your daughter will feel secure and successful in our all-girl environment.

The Middle School curriculum provides challenging, exploratory, integrative, and relevant courses focused on young women's developmental readiness, needs, and interests. Faculty members share a focus on our students and their engagement with the subject matter. We understand learning doesn’t only happen in the classroom and are invested in a student-first approach that emphasizes the creativity and problem-solving skills students will rely on for a lifetime. Viz Middle School students are well-prepared for success in our Upper School as we nurture their individuality in a supportive, faith-based learning environment that fosters lifelong learning skills and helps them develop into confident leaders who will thrive on their chosen path.

  • Step 3: Submit a Transcript Release Form and Teacher Recommendation

Please sign and submit the Transcript Release form available here to your daughter’s school. The school will send Viz your daughter’s official transcripts, test scores, and information from the past three years. Please access your daughter’s admission checklist on the Viz Portal to request a math and English teacher recommendation.
    Standardized Testing:
Viz no longer requires the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) for middle school applicants. We do require standardized tests like ITBS, MAPS, or ERB. If your daughter has not taken one of these, or you would like to take the SSAT, please visit ssat.org to register. SSAT scores can be sent directly to Viz by entering Visitation Academy as a recipient.

  • Step 4: Schedule a Family Meeting

You will receive an invitation in January, after your application is submitted, to self-schedule your family meeting with a member of our Admission team.
  • Step 5: Optional Tuition Assistance Assessment

Visitation Academy is happy to provide an estimate of tuition assistance in advance of the application process if you feel your financial situation warrants it. We understand that this may be helpful in making your decision. If you have demonstrated financial need, we encourage you to apply online for tuition assistance prior to December 1. Doing so will allow Visitation Academy to review your tuition assistance application early.
We strive to make the tuition assistance application process comfortable for our families, and please know that your application is confidential. We use School and Student Services (SSS) to process tuition assistance applications and provide preliminary data relative to your family’s financial need. To apply, visit https://sssandtadsfa.my.site.com/familyportal to complete your Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS). The SSS portal is open and Visitation Academy’s school code is 1093. If you do not choose to complete your online application by December 1, then you should complete it no later than December 31, 2024. Late applicants will be considered if funds remain and may be placed on a waiting list.

Please upload a copy of your 2023 IRS Form 1040 income tax return (including all related schedules and W-2’s) directly to School and Student Services. Similarly, also upload a copy of your 2024 IRS Form 1040 income tax return and all related schedules when completed. Tuition assistance awards are contingent upon you providing the required tax documents to this address.

*Please note to make sure you are entering information into the 2025-2026 SSS form.
