Lower School Athletics

Who's Ready to Play?

Elementary school athletics offer young students a fun and engaging way to stay active while developing essential life skills. Participating in sports helps children improve physical health, coordination, and motor skills. Beyond physical benefits, athletics foster teamwork, discipline, and resilience, teaching kids how to set goals, handle competition, and build confidence. These activities also provide a foundation for lifelong fitness habits and encourage social interaction, contributing to overall emotional and mental well-being.

Mission Statement:

Visitation Academy’s Middle and Lower School athletics programs embody Salesian values and serve as an integral extension of the classroom experience. We believe in developing an inclusive, encouraging, and supportive environment, where sportsmanship, faith, and personal growth are at the core of every athlete’s journey.
  • Sportsmanship: We are committed to cultivating a culture of integrity, teamwork, and respect on and off the field. By embracing the "Live + Jesus" philosophy, athletes grow as leaders while fostering a deep sense of commitment to their faith and Salesian values.
  • Educational-Based Athletics: Our sports programs extend beyond physical performance, reinforcing the educational mission of Visitation Academy through skill development and growth, as well as leadership development.  Our well-coordinated program has grade and team-specific goals for skill development, strategic understanding, and teamwork, ensuring growth at every level. This is supported by our Vertical Coaching Model, where our varsity coach oversees every team, guiding philosophy, program design, and player development across all levelsUpper School students play a key role in this process, participating in Lower and Middle School team practices and mentoring our younger players, which helps build a strong athletic foundation across the Academy.
  • Inclusive Environment: We strive to make all students, families, and visitors feel welcome at our athletic events, fostering a sense of belonging for everyone involved.
  • Support and Spirit: We encourage our community to enthusiastically support our teams, while promoting school pride in a manner that reflects our values.
  • Representation: Our student-athletes represent Visitation Academy by living out Salesian virtues, both in competition and as ambassadors of our school.
