Annecy is a small Alpine town in France nestled 25 miles south of Geneva on the shores of Lake Annecy. The friendship of St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane de Chantal flourished in Annecy, and as a result, Annecy is where the Visitation Sisters were founded.
For the Visitation Sisters, Annecy is both a spiritual home and a symbol of the great values of their community. In 1833, Visitation Academy became the “Annecy” of St. Louis. Inspired by the “spirit of Annecy” and living the Salesian values of gentleness, simplicity, and humility, the Visitation sisters founded the school that is now lovingly known as Viz.
The Spirit of Annecy Capital Campaign is grounded in the great traditions and heritage of Visitation education as we stretch toward the horizons of 21
st-century educational leadership. With its $17 million goal, this campaign is set on the firm foundations of spirituality, academics, and community.
