Avery M. Named Post-Dispatch All-Metro Girls Golfer of the Year
Visitation senior Avery McLaughlin has been named the Post-Dispatch All-Metro Girls Golfer of the Year, capping off an extraordinary high school golf career.
A key player in the Vivettes’ back-to-back state championships, Avery’s contributions included three all-state individual finishes and multiple team victories. This season, she added another district championship and claimed the Angel Classic title with an impressive 4-under-par 67.
Known for her leadership and team-first mindset, Avery said, “I would trade any individual success for team success. I’m just so proud of our group of girls.”
As she heads to Richmond next year to continue her golf career, her coach, Julie Jones, believes she’s just getting started: “The sky’s the limit. Whatever she wants out of golf, she can have it.”
Congratulations, Avery! Your Viz family is so proud.
