Mary Alice Dwyer-Dobbins ’59
had a 37 year career in TV where among many other things, she oversaw the soap operas “All My Children,” “One Life to Live,” “General Hospital” and “Loving.” She was also tasked with turning around the soaps “Guiding Light,” “As the World Turns” and “Another World.” She was Vice President of Programming for the cable channel “Lifetime.” Another fun fact is that she is credited with bringing the “Smurfs” to the United States. Who knew that A Viz alumna was a huge influence in many loved TV shows? And, she still displays her crescent proudly!”
