Counseling

Department Philosophy

Members of the Counseling Department focus on developing the total person intellectually, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually.  Maturing a responsible, interdependent, integrated person within the context of this faith community is the ultimate goal.

The department includes five key counseling areas:

  • Academic
  • Personal/Crisis
  • College
  • Career
  • Testing
Within these areas, counselors strive to help students learn necessary coping skills with regard to personal problems and stress, develop problem solving skills, accept responsibility for consequences of their actions, realize how their actions affect others, set and pursue goals in order to develop their full potential, and to make morally sound decisions within the context of Christian tradition.
