Annual Giving

What is the Annual Fund?
Visitation Academy, like all independent Catholic schools, relies on the generous philanthropic support of parents, alumnae, faculty and staff, parents of alumnae, grandparents, and friends to implement strategic enhancements to and maintain excellence of our educational programs and facilities. Our Annual Fund provides the much needed support that bridges the gap between the cost of a Visitation education and the cost of tuition. All gifts to the Annual Fund are tax-deductible.

Why is the Annual Fund important?
In addition to bridging the gap between the cost of a Visitation education and the cost of tuition, contributions to the Annual Fund also:

· Recruit and retain talented teachers

· Provide safe and modern facilities

· Keep class sizes small

· Maintain an exceptional curriculum

· Provide students, faculty, and staff with access to innovative technology

· Allow for professional development opportunities for faculty and staff

When should I give to the Annual Fund?
The Annual Fund runs from July 1 to June 30. Every fall, Visitation families, alumnae and friends will be asked for an Annual Fund contribution to meet a budgeted gross dollar goal and participation goal.

Why is participation in the Annual Fund important?
Visitation Academy takes great pride in knowing that our families, alumnae and friends make contributing to the Annual Fund a philanthropic priority. High levels of participation in the Annual Fund are critical to Visitation Academy when seeking additional funding from outside grantmakers.

How much should I give to the Annual Fund?
The size of the gift to the Annual Fund should be a reflection of a family’s ability to give. Those who have been financially blessed are asked to consider fulfilling the gap between the cost of tuition and the actual cost of a Visitation education. Some families fulfill the gap themselves as well as for another family with less discretionary resources. Families whose children receive financial aid are asked to contribute a small gift to help the class fulfill the participation goal.

Alumnae Gifts to the Annual Fund

Visitation Academy alumnae generously support their alma mater through the Alumnae Annual Fund. Their gifts reveal their appreciation for the fine education they recieved, as well as for the love and respect bestowed upon them by their teachers, classmates and the Sisters of the Visitation. Alumnae contributions help strengthen and preserve Visitation's mission of valuing excellence in scholarship, spirituality, leadership and service.

"Intelligent and other-oriented" are words often used to describe Visitation graduates. Their generous response to the Alumnae Annual Fund exemplifies their support and dedication and makes a statement about the impact their education continues to have on their daily lives. They want Visitation traditions to continue, and they provide financial assistance to make it possible for current and future students to enjoy the quality education they received.
